It was just another day for Kassi, she had just sent Alecks to the sitters, and she was heading out to be with Mallory. They hadn't visited Aiden, together, in a while. She knew they would want some private time, but she enjoyed his company too. It seemed like it had been forever since she had seen him and he had seen Alecks, but Alecks wanted to play. She knew she should bring him to see his godfather more, but he always seemed to want other things. So she figured the next visit she went on after this one she'd plan on bringing him. She took a deep breath as she looked through her closet for some nice asylum approved attire. She pulled out a grey t-shirt with a red X slashed on the front, and some grey sweat pants. She was going for comfort instead of appeal. Aiden had seen her in worse anyway. Throwing on her clothes, and brushing her hair up into a ponytail, she headed out to meet Mal at the Asylum.
She pulled into the parking lot, and got out of her car. After locking up she walked in side and followed the signs to the Dining Hall. She just hoped they weren't to wrapped up in eachother to notice her there. But on the off chance that they were, she would just wait for someone to talk to her. She didn't mind the asylum patients, a lot of them were rather nice. She looked around at all the tables and spotted Aiden and Mallory, eating eachothers faces off. She decided not to be a spoilsport, and casually walked up to grab a bite to eat. She got a salad, and some macaroni and cheese and a ham sandwich with a water. The healhiest food she would have all week. With a perminant smile on her face, she headed to a table out of the way.
She picked at her food as she watched the groups of people around her. Some having visits, others talking amongst themselves. She wondered where she would be right now if Jackson hadn't left her and thier son. She just hoped he was happy where ever he was, doing whatever it was he was doing. She hoped she would be a good mother to her son, she was doing good so far, but Alecks was smart he'd start to ask questions sooner or later. She sighed, placing her fork on her plate and drinking her water. ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ c a u s e . l - o - v - e . w a s . n o t . w h a t . t h i s . w a s[/blockquote] s t a t u s -finshed[ღ] t a g g e d- BENJAMIN KANST [ღ] w o r d s -423[ღ] o u t f i t - Dolce and Gabana [ღ] p l a y i n g- i run to you - Lady Antebelum [ღ] l y r i c s - starstrukk, by 3oh!3 feat katy perry.[ღ] c r e d i t s - thepixie of caution.[/ul]

This place wasn't helping his sanity. If anything, it was doing quite the opposite, it was only further damaging it. After his odd meeting with Kat, he'd placed himself in isolation. He refused to speak with anyone and spoke very little to the doctors. He'd gotten very little sleep too. Same with food, he'd consumed minimal amounts, just enough to sustain himself. It was starting to have a very adverse affect on him. He walked through the hallways, lost in his own thought. His face lacked any emotion and was now an unhealthy pale color. Dark circles surrounded his eyes, showing just how much he really had slept. Honestly he looked like shit.
Today was one of his few trips to the dining hall. It was more against his will than anything. They were practically forcing him to eat. He rolled off of the cot and pulled on the first shirt he found. Opting to take a hoodie with him, he grabbed the simple black jacket and took it with him. As he walked, he pulled it over his head, allowing the hood to fall over his eyes. Numbly, he made his way to the cafeteria. Each step was forced and unwanted. But finally, he made his way there. With his hands shoved in his pocket, he stood in line waiting for his turn.
It felt like high school again. The same cliques, just on a more psychotic level of course. He hadn't exactly found his place in high school and now wasn't any different. Ben hadn't been paying attention to what he put on his tray. He just grabbed food and passed through the line. Now it was only a matter of figuring out where he wanted to sit. He stood there for a long minute, scanning the room back and forth. It would be his luck that all the tables were either filled or semifilled. He wasn't exactly in a friend making mood.
Finally , he spotted a table with only a single person seated there. He took a deep breath and somehow managed to draw up the courage to walk over to the woman. "May I join you here ma'am?" He pulled the hood back down in an attempt to appear more friendly. But his body language was stiff and always in that 'at attention' type of pose. It was something that just couldn't be helped. Kassi sat staring between the food on her plate, the table, and what was going on outside the windows. She briefly wondered if the staff let the patients eat outside for fresh air. She would hate to never get time outside for fresh air, heck if she didn't go outside her tane would fade and become dull. She shook herself, realizing how vain that sounded. She picked up her fork and attepted to eat her salad, just to tide over her hunger. She shivered slightly, almost as if she were cold. She could feel the hair on the back of her neck standing up. She just ignored it though, it wasn't like she was in any danger and it wasn't like she was the only person in the room either.
She pulled her water bottle in front of her, and started playing with the label. She didn't hear the footsteps coming close to her, as she dazed off into space, nor did she hear the rustle of fabric as the person stopped next to her. What startled her was the deep intake of breath she heard. She jumped slightly startled, before placing a hand on her chest, turning toward the voice. She took a deep breath before, answering. She studied his posture and noticed how rigid and stand-offish he was. She smiled softly, and nodded. "Sure, it seems i forgot to bring a friend today." She said, attempting to the tension.
She shifted over a bit, and rearranged her place setting. "So, I'm Kassi, how are you?" She said, brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear. If today was any other day that Aiden and Mallory got all wrapped up in her, then she would at least have Alecks to keep her company, now that he wasn't here, she had to branch out. She didn't mind that so much, she rather enjoyed getting to know people, she just didn't really feel up to it at the moment. She was more in the mood to run back to her son and take him to see her parents, or at least to drag him back to the asylum to see his god parents. She shook the cobwebs out of her head slightly, and took an actual long look at the guy who sat with her. He really wasn't that bad to look at, he was rather easy on the eyes.
She wondered if she should ask him about himself, but she thought it'd be safer to stick to more, less sensative subjects. So after a considerable silence, she turned to him again. "It's a beautiful day, don't you think?" She asked softly, looking down at her hands, like they held the secrets to the world inside them. . ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ c a u s e . l - o - v - e . w a s . n o t . w h a t . t h i s . w a s[/blockquote] s t a t u s -finshed[ღ] t a g g e d- BENJAMIN KANST [ღ] w o r d s -470[ღ] o u t f i t - Dolce and Gabana [ღ] p l a y i n g- i run to you - Lady Antebelum [ღ] l y r i c s - starstrukk, by 3oh!3 feat katy perry.[ღ] c r e d i t s - thepixie of caution.[/ul]

When she jumped, it startled Ben too. He was ready to go off and find another spot. But her soft smile set him at ease and he managed a thin smile before sitting down across from her. "Thank you." When she gave her name, Ben looked up at her curiously, studying her. There was no doubt, she was a gorgeous individual. He wouldn't have been surprised if she wasn't used to the occasional doubletake. He hadn't seen her around and she was most likely not one of them. Perhaps a visitor or a doctor? Oh, he probably should have given his name back. It was only courtesy right? "Ben." No last name this time. "I'm in an asylum, what do you think?" He gave her a more sincere smile this time, a bit of his old humor returning briefly.
During the brief silence, he took the time to continue watching her. She seemed absorbed in her own thoughts and he wasn't going to interrupt. The only thing he was curious about was, why was she sitting among them? If she was a visitor, she should have been visiting someone. He couldn't help but ask. "You're not a patient here are you?" Ben tilted his head but quickly looked back down at his food. "Sorry, I couldn't help but notice." He poked around the tray but didn't see anything particularly appetizing. His hand closed around the soda can and he popped the tab. The coldness of the can didn't help the fact that he was already freezing. He put the can down and pulled his hand back into the sweatshirt. His hands were shaking again.
But he knew it wasn't just from the cold. He had to find someway to distract himself from the thoughts. And currently, this woman was the only person who had bothered to attempt to be kind. He appreciated it though. After all, he was only expecting nothing but complete silence between them. Taking a sip of the carbonated liquid, he nodded at her comment and took a look outside. He hadn't noticed and well, he hadn't really bothered looking out. It'd been days since the last time he went outside. He was already starting to pale from lack of sun. "Yes, I suppose it is." Slowly, he turned to look back at her. She seemed to be fascinated with her hands.
He was trying to think of something else to say but nothing came to mind. They didn't know each other well enough to talk about anything personal. It seemed they were stuck talking about the weather and other mere formalities. But he didn't want to converse about what a beautiful day it was. He wanted to know more. "Have you ever been in love?" It was a terribly intrusive question and he wasn't sure what had compelled him to ask. But he had this feeling that she knew what it felt like to lose someone.

She didn't mean to startle him, and she hoped he wouldn't leave. She managed a soft, "You're welcome." Before the blush set in, tinting her bronze skin with a slight pink tint. She hadn't blushed in a long time, it was a strange feeling to experience. She could feel his eyes on her, and it made her blush deepen just a bit. She cocked her head to the side slightly when he said he was in an asylum. She blushed and looked away realizing what she had said. "Sorry. It must not be all that, fun being in here. I sometimes tend to forget where i am." She said, before biting her lower lip out of nervousness.
She watched him from below her lashes, he was handsome and he didn't look like he needed to be here. He seemed like Aiden in a way, and that made her smile softly. His question broke her out of her nail study. "Uh, well i was supposed to be, but Mal and Aiden the patient, are kinda swallowing eachother's tonsils. I didn't want to intrude." She said, chuckling softly. "It's ok, i don't mind. Besides, it's more fun for me to see who decides they aren't too frightened to talk to me." She said, a bright smile gracing her full lips. She watched him as she picked at her mac and cheese. She saw the way he shook and she was tempted to walk over and wrap her arms around him, but she didn't. It would have been too wierd and she would have had to have an awkward conversation afterward. That would be the second conversation in her life where she stuttered really bad.
She wondered why he shook so much, yeah it was a bit chilly but not chilly enough for him to shake. She sighed not really minding the silence that had fallen between them. It wasn't awkward, it was a pleasant silence. She didn't mind this silence between them, it wasn't like the frozen silences she shared with her parents about Alecks and her life. She sighed, drifting back into the real world and the beautiful cloudless sky. She was concentrating on her hands as he had answered. She could feel his eyes on her, so she looked up and caught his eye. She gave him a warm smile, hoping it wasn't too much.
She took another sip of her water as she looked around the two. When he asked her if she had ever been in love, she stopped moving, stunned speechless. "Y-y-yeah i was. With my son's father." She said, her voice almost a whisper. "What about you, you ever been in love?" She asked, giving him a timid half smile. It had been a while since she had brought Jackson up, she just hoped he wouldn't pity her. Everyone always pitied her for having a child with no father. It wasn't the way she chose to have her son, but she wouldn't trade him for the world. He was her own little personal ray of sunshine, and she liked that just fine. ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ ღ c a u s e . l - o - v - e . w a s . n o t . w h a t . t h i s . w a s[/blockquote] s t a t u s -finshed[ღ] t a g g e d- BENJAMIN KANST [ღ] w o r d s -538[ღ] o u t f i t - Dolce and Gabana [ღ] p l a y i n g- i run to you - Lady Antebelum [ღ] l y r i c s - starstrukk, by 3oh!3 feat katy perry.[ღ] c r e d i t s - thepixie of caution.[/ul]

The blush was adorable, he had to admit that. It quite reminded him of Alice, the way she would blush when embarrassed. He missed that. There was a sense of deja vu when she apologized. "No, no. I was just joking." He looked around and shrugged. "I suppose it's not all that bad. We do deserve to be here after all..." Ben trailed off, realizing that he might just have opened up the possibility of talking about why he was here. He hoped she wouldn't ask any questions about why he was here, she probably wouldn't have liked the answer. Sure, he wasn't the worse one in here but what he had done was still unforgivable.
Ben looked around at her response. It didn't take much to spot the couple with their tongue down each other's throats. "Ah, yeah I saw that earlier." He chuckled and turned back. Even in an asylum people still seemed to have the need to couple off. The world worked in an odd way. Well he was glad that she wasn't a doctor. He wasn't too keen on the idea of talking to a therapist anytime soon. And she was a connection to the outside world. He glanced outside again and placed his empty can down. He crossed his arms, hugging them tightly to his chest. "Kinda cold in here." Ben shuddered, desperately wanting to stop shaking.
It was strange. Everyone here seemed to accept each other for who they were. It was understood that they were all deranged in some way and they carried on with life like it was normal, because it was. But this woman didn't belong here, yet she seemed to be quite comfortable in this place. The idea of being able to come and go as she pleased, seemed to fascinate Ben. He knew it was something he would never have again. It frightened him to know that this was were he was going to die. It was only a question of time now, how long would he survive in this place?
He was surprised she even answered the question. But her answer was even more surprising. Ben looked at her and his eyes lit up at the mention of her son. But it also brought back a longing for his own son and he frowned slightly. "Same here. Married the girl of my dreams and a handsome son." With a sad smile, he looked up at Kassi. "Shame everything good can never can last." It was like a unspoken law. There were no happy endings. Eventually, it all came to an end. People were born dying.

She wondered what was making her blush really, she hadn't had a reaction to the opposite sex like this, since Jackson. And she didn't want to bring up too many memories, the wounds still hadn't healed. "It's so hard to tell these days when someone is kidding. I thought i had offended you in some way." She said, looking away bashfully. "I believe that you just need someone to talk to... Being locked up in a place, that doesn't help anyone get better. I mean you don't have all that much freedom in here." She said, veheminantly. She wondered why he was in there, but sensed he didn't want to talk about it. She wasn't the type to pry, so she just let it go. If he wanted her to know, he would tell her. "Sorry, i get worked up about things sometimes." She said, having the descency to look embarrassed.
She gave a small laugh when he chuckled. She hated, and envied that they were together. She knew Aiden and Mal were perfect for eachother. "I kind of envy their happiness, knowing that they have been together since we were teenagers, and it looks like they will be together forever. It's not something easily found." She said, her voice a bit husky at the end, causing her to clear her throat. She shook her head and looked away from the couple. It amazed her that the one thing she had in life that made her happy, wasn't as real as she thought it was. She wrapped her arms around herself as she watched him, covertly, through her lashes. "Yeah it is a bit brisk. But its better than being too hot." She said, looking back up at him.
The asylum seemed to baffle her, it was like high school the way everyone branched off. There was a method to the madness she guessed, but it felt a little strange being there. She was what the asylum staff considered normal, so she was the outsider the oddball. But when she was in high school that had been different. To know how it feels to be on the outside looking in, was a whole new experience for her. She briefly thought about how hard it must be to survive in a place like this, before her mind drifted back to her son and her ex. She was trying to figure out what to tell him about Alecks' third birthday, even though it was four months away she wanted to know if he would be there. She wondered if Alecks would hate her for not waiting for his father. It had been almost four years since she had seen him.
She gave him a sad smiled, at his last statement. "Yes, it is a shame. At least you married her, i was left because of a duty to his family. Apparently being pregnant with his child didn't make me his family. But i have my son, and he is all the sunshine and rainbows i will need." She said, smiling softly, a glazed look in her eyes, as she thought about the little boy she needed as desperately as he needed her. Alecks was her reason, he was the only thing that had kept her out of the asylum when she had gotten home. "I think im going to bring Alecks in one day to meet you Ben. I think he'd like having someone else to chat with. Uncle Aiden is a bit of a bad influence." She said, chuckling softly, attempting to change the mood of the conversation. It didn't bode well for her if they stayed on the path they were on. "Plus anything has to be better then having my two year old suffer the effects of overly sexed adults." She said, grinning like she hadn't just felt her heart clench in her chest. It was easier for her to mask the pain now, she had had years of practice.

"Oh no, it'll take more than that to offend me." He smiled in what he hoped was a reassuring manner. An amused look glinted in his grey eyes as he watched her talk. She seemed quite passionate on the subject. "Well we get enough freedom. And some of us do deserve to be truly locked up." Ben smiled but he knew he was talking about himself now. It was by sheer luck that he managed to avoid a state prison but sometimes he wondered if it would be better than this place. She really was quite an amusing person, almost reminded him of Alice. At first when he looked up, he half expected her to be sitting there instead of Kassi. The corner of his lip moved in a half smile at her comment. "Don't be sorry. It's nice to see that people still have compassion for the crazy." Ben winked quickly at her before looking back down at his tray.
"Wow, they even ended up in the asylum together?" Now that was either true insanity or complete dedication. He envied what they had too. But he had no one else to blame but himself for losing what he once had. He caught the slight change in voice and he had to wonder, who was the bastard who broke her heart? He continued poking around his food, looking for a distraction. He wasn't hungry and he was starting to wonder why he even bothered coming into the dining hall. Though it had turned out to be a pretty good decision, so he wasn't going to complain. Her comment snapped him back to reality and he rubbed his arm. "I don't know, I've always been pretty use to the heat. Never did get comfortable with the cold." He'd spent so much time in Iraq, that this New York weather was a rather radical change. He was looking forward to seeing snow again though.
His gaze began to wander around the dining hall. It was surprisingly full today, almost as if everyone had decided now would be a great time to have lunch. He was starting to wonder if there was some memo that he missed. Or they were all starting to get adjusted to the same clock, now that was weird. But as he looked around, there were no faces that he recognized. He hadn't bothered to try and make friends with anyone. And he sure wasn't going to try and memorize any faces, no point in that. As long as he didn't make any enemies in this place, he would be okay. Well, "okay" in the loosest of meanings.
Sure he may have married her, but what good did that do? She still had an affair and he had killed her, so there really wasn't much a point. Their entire marriage had been based off lies. Ben smiled at her comment about her son. Finally, someone who understood what it was like to have a kid. His smile faded at her suggestion though. Bring her kid in? It would be nice to have a child around but...he was worried about how that would go down. Clearly she didn't know that he had shot his son and was probably not exactly the type of person she wanted to have around her son. But what if it was a second chance? Ben forced a smile. "I think I'd like that." He'd just have to leave out some parts of his history. And sure, it probably wasn't the best idea but he couldn't help but say yes. He laughed softly at her comment and turned to look at the couple behind them. "No, I can't say that teaching a two year old how to make out would be very smart." Ben looked back, catching her eye for a second. He smiled shyly before looking away.

Kassi was so used to offending people with what she said, cause half the time she just didn't pay attention to what ever came flying out of her mouth. She was like a trigger happy cop, and that was something she felt she needed to change. "I'm glad i don't offend you. Just watch though i have that ability, seems i should stop talking sometimes." She said, with a half smile gracing her full lips. She shook her head softly, "I don't believe that. Somethings just happen, its not like you planned to be crazy." She said, looking down. She didn't know why but she wanted people to realize they weren't all that bad. They were just normal people, with some small problem. She flushed a brilliant shade of crimson when he winked at her. It wasn't everyday a handsome stranger winked at her. She didn't think to highly of herself anymore. She knew she used to be pretty, but now she was just Alecks' mom. "Well, if it's one thing i have, its compassion." She said, cracking a side smile, as she pushed the lettuce around on her plate. She felt like she was finally letting herself open up and it felt good, even if she was in an insane asylum.
She giggled when he mentioned them in the asylum together. "Oh, no. Sadly Mallory just spends hours here talking to Aiden. But no, Mallory is like me, she can leave at will. But it's always the same when we come here, they try to swallow eachothers faces. It's a bit creepy really." She said, drifting off into her own little world briefly. She hadn't had much time to dwell on Jackson, last she heard he was happy where he was. His mom called to talk to Alecks, but his dad did nothing, wanted nothing to do with Alecks. It broke her heart that Alecks didn't know his other papa and nana, and she really couldn't do anything about that. Even if Jackson's mom sent presents every year, christmas and on his birthday. She cocked her head to the side briefly, and stared at him. "Where did you come from?" She asked, being very inquisitive. It was one of her downside, she liked to know everything. She also liked to research about anything and everything she can find information about.
As he looked at the groups of people around them, she studied him. He was rather hard to descearn his feelings. Then again, she wasn't a person reader really. She just wanted to know what he was thinking, everyone saw the world differently, she wondered how he saw the world. She also wondered why he was here, but hey thats what happened. He didn't look like the kind of guy that was up for sharing every detail over lunch. Placing her fork down on the table, she scanned the crowd to see Mallory and Aiden again. She smiled softly at them, before turning back to look at Ben again. He was like a mystery she wanted to unweave. But she wasn't sure she would be able to.
She couldn't help but hate herself for letting herself get swept off her feet when she was over in Europe. She fell madly in love with a sweet southern boy that promised her the world. And she had almost given up her dreams for him. The only reason she wasn't so full of regret was because she got her beautiful baby boy. If Jackson hadn't have left her things would have been different, she thinks. But what did happen has somewhat made her stronger. She didn't trust men very well, she didn't want to get broke again. But she was ready to move on. She looked up at him and watched his smile fade, which caused her smile to slip into more of an awkward grin. "I don't have to bring Alecks here, i can just come back to visit you, if you want." She said, not wanting to make him uncomfortable. She would would rather not make him uncomfortable, she really liked him and didn't want to put him in that kind of a position. "I don't want to make you uncomfortable. I mean you barely even know me, and here i am throwing my kid at you. I am sorry. I really am an ass." She said, rambling a bit. Whenever she got nervous she rambled. She watched him look over at the two again. And what suprised her most was he agreed and then on top of that he gave her a smile. It was a small almost not there smile, but still a smile. "Yeah, alecks has seen enough of them making out." She said, looking down at the table.

She did seem to ramble on but Ben found it all quite adorable. It really reminded him of Alice, the way she would just continue talking when she got embarrassed. He smiled at her, it was almost a cocky grin. It didn't matter if she kept talking, he was a good listener. He preferred to listen to others than to talk. "Yeah, I guess being crazy wasn't exactly one of my childhood dreams." He chuckled, shaking his head. The way his childhood went though, it was no surprise he was where he was. There were signs. Her blush only widened his grin. Damn, she really did remind him so much of his Alice. "It's hard finding people with compassion. It's a good thing."
"Ohhh, okay. I see." Ben nodded in understanding. Now he was even more curious as to how their relationship worked. If he was considered crazy and she wasn't, did their relationship make her crazy? It was all quite an intriguing thought. "I can see how that'd be creepy. Doesn't quite make for good conversation." He smirked proudly at his own joke. And this woman in front of him. He had to wonder about her too. It took guts to show up to an insane asylum alone. A beautiful, single mom coming to visit the crazy. A part of him was curious to know if this is what it would be like if he hadn't killed Alice. Despite the murders, he had a feeling he would end up in this place anyhow. But he wasn't sure if Alice would be like Kassi and visit him. The brief thought of an alternate universe depressed him. He longed to hold Alice in his arms again. But he had no one to blame but himself for that one.
His eyebrows furrowed in thought. To anyone else, he appeared distressed by his own thinking. The clanking sound of the fork being place on the table brought Ben back. He blinked a couple of times, as if trying to remember what he had been doing. It took him a while to figure out that she had asked him a question. "Oh. Where am I from?" Yeah, that was a good answer. "Well, not really from anywhere. Spent most of my life moving around." This state one month, another the next. He never really had a stable childhood home. They did manage to stay in one place for almost two years though but Ben couldn't remember the name of the city. "Well I was born in Texas but we moved two months later. I've pretty much been all over the place." Despite being born in the South, he never saw himself as a Southerner. He was always more of a Yankee, probably why he decided to have his family in New York. "What about you?"
He looked up, shocked at her statement. "Oh it's not that, no, no, not at all." Ben became quite flustered as he tried to come up with an answer without trying to tell her that he had killed his son. Unable to meet her gaze, he stared down at his tray, pretending to be absorbed in studying his untouched food. "It's just..." He cleared his throat, trying to stall and buy him some time to think about how he wanted to word this. "I like kids, it's um...well..." I shot my son after he watched me kill his mother. He finished his own statement silently in his head. Yeah, he wasn't going to say that, talk about a conversation killer. "It's not your problem. I enjoy your company." He sighed, there really way no good way to say this. How was she going to react when she found out he was a psychopathic killer? Probably not too well. Ben couldn't see that ending on a very good note at all. "My own son died recently." There he said it, without actually explaining it. Ben hoped that she would avoid the subject of why. But if she did ask, he was going to have to lie about that. His mind was already thinking of possibilities to tell her, so far car accident seemed the most plausible idea. He didn't like lying and he hated those who lied but he felt he had no other choice. It was incredibly hypocritical of him but it was the only way he could protect her from the truth.

She hated rambling when it came to talking to people, especially guys. It made her sounds so completely and utterly ridiculous. She felt like a preteen with the way she rambled on about nothing. She never really understood why she rambled when she got nervous, but everyone has their quirks. "Yeah, well sometimes things happen. Its not like anyone can really predict the future. If they could i never would have had my son, i would have avoided Jackson and i'd probably be happier today..." She said trailing off. She shook her head and sighed. She gave him the best smile she could muster up at that moment. "Well, someone has to have compassion. If not this world would be too cold and heartless for me." She said, smiling wistfully.
She covered her mouth and giggled softly. "Yeah i know how hard it is to comprehend them being together when he is locked up in here." She said, with a nod. "But then again, love knows no bounds." She whispered sagely, smiling softly at him. She watched as tons of emotions flitted across his face, he looked like he was off in a different world. She almost wanted to walk around to his side of the table and just hug him, he looked like he could use it. Despite how she felt about meeting new people, this guy seemed to get her. There was something about him that made her want to reach out and just be with him. She studied his face and wanted to run her fingers along his jawline, and through his hair. She licked her lips as her eyes trailed to his lips and she wondered how soft they would feel against her own. She started to feel hot, wondering what it would be like to feel him against her. Her eyes grew wide at that thought and she shook her head, clearing it of those thoughts. She didn't want him to look at her and wonder why she had been practically salivating over him.
She finished up her food, and placed her fork down a little loudly. She noticed Ben blinking and felt bad, she hadn't meant to disturb his thoughts by being loud. She nodded her head when he answered her question with a question. She watched him as he answered her, wondering what it was like to have moved all over. "That must have been incredibly lonely, but interesting to live in different states." She said softly. She wondered briefly if he had any friends in other states that he wanted to get back in touch with. If it had been her she would have at least attempted to keep in contact throughout the years. When he said he was boen in texas she wondered briefly if his family had tried to keep to the south, and why he was now up here in New York. "I was born here, kind of boring, most of my family doesn't live here. My father didn't want us to be moves around, after all there are seven of us." She said with a smile. "The only time i have traveled was over to europe, where i met alecks' father." She said, her smile fading slightly.
She watched him struggle to tell her why it was ok. When he told her that his son had died, she really felt like a real ass. She felt like an insensitive ass, she should have asked him way before throwing her son at him. She never thought before doing something, and it always ended up being a bad idea. "Oh Ben, i'm such an insensitive person, i should have asked you if it was alright long before mentioning it. I am so sorry. I didn't think, and that's my problem i never think before i say something." She said, looking down at her hands briefly. "If you don't want me to bring him i won't, i don't want to cause you any pain. I enjoy your company and i want to keep coming back to see you, so i don't want to do anything to push you away and make you uncomfortable." She said, before chewing on her lower lip softly. One day she was going to end up biting right straight through her lip, if she kept it up.
