Contrary to belief, the counselors in the asylum had the most difficult job of all. They were the babysitters. The ones in charge of actually being hands on with the patients. They escorted them around the building. Hosted the group therapy sessions. Monitored the halls and public rooms like the lounges, laundry room and living and dining rooms. They did room checks. And lastly, they made sure that the patients had what they needed. Orderlies were there to assist them if patients got unruly. They were in charge of restraining violent patients and escorting them to the specialty rooms in the basement. Then there were the therapists. Every patient was assigned to one of the therapists. Tat is where they got down to the roots and figured out what was causing the problems. Jakob had never like any of the therapists. They always seemed to upset the patients. Then of course there were the doctors who were simply in charge f making sure the patients stayed physically healthy. And then of course there was the janitorial and kitchen staff. All other kinds of staff weren't involved with patients. They simply sat in offices answering phones and such. Either way, he's always felt like he had the most important job in the place. He had the fun job. But of course, even fun jobs had some kind of paperwork to deal with.
After a patient had been in Crescent Hills for a couple days it was procedure to do an interview with them. Jakob had been assigned to do an interview with Lauren Harrison. She was a quiet girl who spent most of her time writing. He'd noticed her. Just like he noticed all of the other patients. He read over her file as he sat in the private interview room. He didn't have his own office but they made these rooms just for this purpose. Nothing about her file really stood out to him immediately apart from the mention of anorexia and a statement from her parents saying that she talked to animals. He was more concerned about the anorexia than anything else. Especially since the counselors that had been escorting the girls to the dining room had noticed that she hadn't ben eating much. He was told to warn her that she would be force fed if she didn't start eating. This would anger her and he new it but he had to tell her. It was how things worked. She was underweight and not eating. Which meant that she was putting herself at risk for heart failure.
Of course Jakob always brought along a buffer. Something to make him not seem like the enemy. One of the female counselors had told him that she's been asking for new notebooks seeing as she was going through them so quickly. So sitting on the table in front of him were five brand new notebooks just for her. When her knock came on the open door he looked up and smiled. She said hello. "Hi. You must be Lauren. I'm Jakob. Please have a seat. I have to do a small interview with you and then you can get out of here. Quick and painless, I promise."
He said with a smile. "First things first, is there anything that you need to make yourself more comfortable while you are here? He asked. Most counselors took notes while interviewing a patient but Jakob never did. He had a very good memory.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
